Saturday Mar. 14th - Thursday Mar. 19th
The northern provinces of the Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe) are all about digitalisation in the period from Saturday March 14th until Thursday March 19th. Not only because of the conference ´Nederland Digitaal 2020´, an annually organised conference about the future of digitalisation in the Netherlands on the initiative of the Dutch government, which takes place in the city of Groningen this year. But also because of a broad variety of regionally initiated activities, set up in multiple locations in the northern provinces, displaying digital innovation and transition in this area of the Netherlands.
Digitalisation is a development that everybody will experience in their own way, either it in a private, or a professional setting. All sectors of society are influenced by it: education, health care, industry, service, agriculture, economy, and government. And everybody can contribute to the digital transition.
In the northern provinces of the Netherlands, digitalisation is implemented in order to find innovative solutions for common societal challenges. We can only do this together: with citizens, the education sector, entrepreneurs, government, and researchers.
The programme of Noorden Digitaal consists of the following events.
On March 14th, it all kicks off with the DoeDigiDag, a days of regional activities organised in fur northern locations: Groningen, Leeuwarden, Delfzijl and Roden.
Monday March 16th, the national programme also starts with the Digitaal Talent Dag, a day focused on the innovation of education, from teacher, to the development of education.
On Tuesday and Wednesday March 17th and 18th, the scientific conference ICT.OPEN will take place. The conference focuses on every asset of IT-research in the Netherlands. Over 500 researchers and professionals will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and meet new peers during this event.
Finally, on March 19th, Nederland Digitaal Dag, organised by multiple ministries of the Dutch government. This event will be strongly related to the Dutch Digitalisationagenda, focussing on AI, Data, and Cybersecurity for example.
Between March 14th and 19th, several activities related to digitalisation will be organised by independent partners of Noorden Digitaal. If we are aware of these events, you will find them in the programme section.
Although most of the activities will be organised with Dutch as spoken language, the programme accessible for English speaking visitors is listed below.
